We love to work with Damascus, but we also enjoy D2, W1, Stainless, 1095 and more. We are willing to try new steels if there is something you want that we don’t have we will find it, make it and get it in your hands. Don’t be shy, there are no dumb questions. We work with all types of wood for scale materials. What is the scale material? Simply put, its the product used to make the knife handles? We also use synthetics like Micarta, G10, Acrylic, Carbon Fiber and more.
A Full Tang knife is one that the tang that extends the entire length of the handle. The handle is usually attached on either side of the knife and you can see the Tang and blade are one piece. The handle is usually made up of two scales, they are fastened through both sides and the Tang with metal pins, Corby Bolts, or rivets. Full tang knives are robust, reliable, and well balanced, they make great custom knives, camp knives, and survival knives. There are some variations of the full tang known as either an extended tang, encapsulated tang, or a hidden tang. Hidden Tangs can be seen on fine or expensive kitchen cutlery but also knives with antler handles.
